Working on the energy of tomorrow

At Royal Smit Transformers, you’ll work on large, technically advanced transformers that are used in power grids around the world. At our modern production facility in Nijmegen, approximately 400 colleagues work together every day to ensure quality, safety, and innovation. Within the Winding Set department, you’ll make a direct contribution to the heart of our products.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

In the Winding Set department, you’ll assemble windings into complete winding sets for transformers. You’ll work on large, technically advanced products where quality, safety, and teamwork are key.

  • Preparing and finishing windings, such as insulating, bending, and customizing leads

  • Applying insulation materials and installing wedges, cylinders, caps, and collars

  • Monitoring the oven process and pressing windings to ensure proper dimensions

  • Finishing windings after the oven process and preparing them for assembly

  • Assembling and pressing complete winding sets

  • Moving windings using overhead cranes

  • Conducting visual quality checks and working in accordance with safety and hygiene guidelines

  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to improvements in the work process

What you bring to the table

  • You have a technical background and enjoy working collaboratively to create a high-quality end product.

  • Technical training and/or relevant work experience

  • Affinity with assembly or production environments

  • An eye for quality and safety

  • Willingness to work a 2.5-shift schedule
